The year 2017 was a great year for the art world when Julie Snyder of Workshops in France booked the most wondrous Chateau near Aix en Provence and invited 13 fabulous artists to come paint in the surrounding countryside for 10 days.  

Here is a painting of the Gatekeeper's House near the Chateau which was built in the 1500s by a member of the government of Aix en Provence.  It was built during a time of plague and poor sanitation conditions in the city, to get to a healthier environment in the countryside, and only a short carriage ridge from the city.
